As well as looking at more complex sketches and Arduino programs, we are going to explore a piece of Software called Processing. Using Processing, we can use an Arduino circuit to control an output - and make it look awesome!

  1. Task 1 Piezo Keyboard

    Activity

For this first task we are going to be using a speaker and a series of sensors to turn your Arduino into a keyboard. You will need to work across two different Arduino sketches/files to help recreate notes and a tune when you 'play' each of the attached sensors. You can use one of the inbuilt Arduino Sketches called Tone Keyboard to help you with this.

For your evidence, either upload a screenshot/video of you playing your Arduino keyboard or upload your Arduino Sketch.

    Challenge

    • Can you hook up multiple speakers and sensors to play different notes in unison?

  2. Task 2 Arduino + Processing = Creativity

    Activity

For this next task we are going to be using a new piece of software called Processing and a sensor called a Potentiometer. You will need to change the value of the sensor to enable you to create a graph of its output. You can use one of the inbuilt Arduino Sketches called Graph to help you with this.

For your evidence, either upload a screenshot/video of your Arduino graph or upload your Arduino Sketch.

    Challenge

    • Can you use another sensor, and use Processing to 'graph' its output?
